A study on Mumbai Metro 3 has flagged major access problems across the Aqua Line, pointing to long stairways, limited downward escalators and weak last-mile connectivity at several stations.
The survey covered all 27 stations on the 33.5-km corridor and found that ease of access remains uneven for commuters. It said the problems are especially significant for senior citizens, passengers carrying luggage and others who need easier station entry and exit.
The findings add to commuter concerns around station design and everyday usability on one of Mumbai's most important transport corridors. The study suggests that physical access features are not yet uniform across the network.
It recommended better wayfinding and stronger feeder connectivity to improve access to stations. The report indicates that addressing these gaps could make Metro 3 more convenient and inclusive for daily passengers.
