Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that a CBI probe into the plane crash involving Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will move forward only after the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau submits its final report.
The crash took place on January 28 near Baramati, and the matter remains under technical examination. According to Fadnavis, both the state CID process and any subsequent CBI action are tied to the findings of the AAIB.
He said data extraction from the aircraft has been completed and that a preliminary report has already been filed. The final technical assessment is now awaited before the next stage of investigation begins.
The development places the focus on the AAIB report as the key document that will determine the course of any central agency inquiry. The case has drawn political and administrative attention in Maharashtra because of Pawar’s senior position in the state government.
